I went to my parents’ place to visit fam in good old Cleveland. Decided it was about time to get rid of a lot of clothes that were left behind during my move to Boston.

Look out I have plenty more to come
Of course I had put away most of my sweaters and warm clothes only for New England to be hit with another weekend of snow and low temps! So while I was waiting for my hair appointment I decided to peer into some stores. Well I peered right into some pretty good sales. Perfect too that they would be winter purging Bc their winter purges served my shopping urges!

My sister who is near and dear has been dealing with a rough spot lately. She is passionate and creative just like myself and in her final year at college just before graduation her bright future had to take to pause due to an unfortunate accident. It has taken a toll on the family but mostly on her. It breaks my heart to see someone who was so enthusiastic about almost everything around her fall to pieces and struggle to rebuild and fight. Please take a peek at the link below. Many thanks in advance for your generosity, kindness and support.

I like to toot my horn a little when it comes to lingo. I love languages and traveling and have thus become a multi lingual being.
I learned my first two languages when I was really young, Tagalog and English as they were both spoken in the household. When I hit high school through college I took on 6 years of French and 2 years of Spanish. After college I was inspired by my boyfriend’s love for the Italian culture and our frequent trips to Italy. I took a class a year ago and here I am brushing up….had to get a stylish little notebook to kick it off too!

A Philippines getaway vacation with the boyfriend coming up and a little bit of longing for home I was in search of a Filipino restaurant. I had done the Google search and came upon one single find in the area. The search landed me with JnJ Turo Turo in Quincy, MA. So Friday after work I threw the suggestion to Todd who joined me in this mini quest.
As we approached the restaurant our faces slowly began to take on disappointment. The place was dark with the white and red sign in the window glaring at is with their “closed” status. I couldn’t believe it, it was only 7:45pm and wasn’t due to close for at least another 15 minutes. But we parked anyway, adjusting our quest to check out the Filipino grocery store we thought we saw next door.
The shelves of this grocery store were filled with childhood nostalgia. There were treats my parents had made, treats relatives would bring back from trips to the “homeland.” I reached for my favorites and a cheesy Tagalog drama. Though we were bummed about missing the restaurant we made do with the grocery trip. In fact I was quite pleased with the grocery discovery.
It was worth while mini adventure that ended in pleasant discovery.
