#frugalfashionista: fine fingernailsĀ

Who doesn’t love getting a fresh gel manicure? When you’re as addicted to them as I am it can become a costly added expense. So maybe once in a while why not DIY? I found  OPI polish at a discount at marshalls, along with that I found a gel-like topcoat set. Results don’t last as long as a real gel manicure, but it’s not a bad alternative until you’re next manicure!

#frugalfashionista : acting cray, going grey!!

IMG_8594

If you’ve followed me on insta, or even on here long enough, you know I’m a freak with my hair. I get bored so easily and am so inclined to try crazy. Maybe not bald level crazy, but color crazy.

IMG_6857

I decided to go grey this time and its probably my favorite of all the colors i’ve done.
If you’ve never gone the DIY route on coloring your hair and are paranoid, I highly suggest having it done professionally. However, if you’re not afraid of risk and are willing to do a little google research, go the money saving route and def DIY it yourself. You’ll need the lightening powder/bleach – $3+ @sallys, developing cream – $2+ @sallys, and the Platinum blonde toner – $5+ also @sallys. I mean really…..$10+ compared to upwards of $200….just rattles me a little sometimes. Nothing against getting it professionally done of course, when I want a particular look and I don’t know how to do it myself (which is often) I always have it done. But most of the time I’m just playing around. So $10 to play around is great for me.

Have fun and get wild fashionistas!

#frugalfashionista : war against wrinkles

I’m only in my 20s but I believe in starting early when it comes to maintenance. I have a daily moisturizer, but I found a great night cream too. Olay is said to be one of the better guys out there but if you look carefully, walmart has strategically placed their branded version of the Olay products right beside them. And if you are smart about it you’ll read the ingredients of both brands and realize they’re exactly the same. The only difference? The pretty name and the pretty packaging.

#frugalfashionista : lotta honey for your money

Treat yourself to a spa day at home. It doesn’t cost much plus it’s very good for your skin. You feel fresh, young, and new! Plus it keeps things moisturized soft and smooth. Try the honey mask by montagne jeunesse. It’s no more than $2 at walmart. Reviews behind it are great, and from personal experience it’s something id highly recommend. They sell it at ulta too, but for a little more.

Try it, treat yourself.

#frugalfashionista : a fashionistas face

Not too excited about dropping the cash on the $100 clairsonic? I don’t blame you, I wasn’t either. And after much research and skimming through reviews I found the fantastic alternative. You can find it at walmart or target for less than a quarter of a price of the clairsonic! I’ve been using it for several months now and have no regrets. I love it!

#frugalfashionista : great value for great quality makeup

I hate to be a hater but drugstore make up is never a good frugal option for good quality and lasting results, In my opinion and experience anyway. I used drug store make up throughout highschool and used to think people who spent more than $8 on makeup pieces were crazy….until I tried it myself.

Have you ever looked at someone in passing, so well put together, face glowing? FACE GLOWING and smooth?! It wasn’t until after I started trying out higher end make ups that I realized my face could achieve those flawless looks too!

Better make up doesn’t always mean you have to break the bank. Some of my favorites still remain in the $20 area. Not bad for flawless!

MAC lips – the thing I love about MAC is that they have almost everything in the color palette that you can’t always find in drugstores! My personal favorites, the nude palette. Even now I find it impossible to find nudes that work or even exist in drug stores. My personal favorite “creme de nude”

Urban decay, blackout eyeshadow – lasts long and has never caked on me

Bare minerals finishing powder – gives your face that photo finish clean smooth matte look. It especially helps when your face gets oily quick. I tried to use a drugstore brand to test it out as a cheaper option…def a waste of my $11.

Treat your face a little šŸ™‚ you’ll love the results.
