#frugalfashionista: favorite fictions

Added yet another “new-old” book to my classics collection. She’s a 1928 edition of “Works of Leo Tolstoy.” I’m a sucker for classics, a true literary nerd.

Brattle book shop in downtown Boston made for a sweet nolstagic adventure and a cute little date for my boyfriend and I. Back in Ohio we had “half price books” visits as one of our favorite past times to do together. Moving to Boston I found a new quaint book shop to continue our past time tradition. They had an adventurous collection and an inviting set-up with two floors of books inside and a slew of deeply discounted books outside.

My find – $5

#frugalfashionista: family reunions leading to fashionable finds

During a family reunion over Christmas break my cousin had introduced me into the “wish” shopping app. Since then it has been a dangerously addictive habit for cheap little finds. Now be weary my shoppers as this is not the place I would recommend buying your whole wardrobe, but it is a fun place to buy small pick me ups.

Everything is most likely made in China and straight from the factories with no one to regulate quality, thus comes my warning. Things on the app are dirt cheap, and they are just that. But for $1 or $2 nik-naks can be fun, just don’t count on them long term.think of it as buying from forever 21.

Anyway….being a cancer birthday I really wanted some crab earrings and they had exactly that for $1 + $1 shopping. Took a few weeks to receive them but I love them. Super cute and they match my Kate spade cancer crab bracelet!

#frugalfashionista : fashion face

I’ve been eyeing the too faced chocolate bar palette since I had seen the tutorial by Marianne Ramos. But spending $50 on a palette was hard to bite on.

This past Xmas my new boss gave me a gift card to Sephora. It was such an awesome gesture. I knew exactly what I was going to purchase with it. When I found the time I headed to Sephora and picked out my semi sweet chocolate bar palette.

Filled with an array of fun colors and scents of subtle sweetness I was a happy customer. I even walked out with a second item of Sephora brand contour/highlighting stick seeing as I was running out of my smashbox version.

$49 too faced palette

$20 contour/highlight duo stick

Worth the investment!

#frugalfashionista: f21 finds

I’m not a huge fan of forever21 anymore, after all I’m not longer 21 and as you get older you usually have a salary that allows you to buy better quality. Every once in a while though I still pop in for a thing or two, like these quick pick me up accessories.
An edgy gold necklace with simple lines to pop a simple black dress. Or this bright red pop of color of an accessory to contrast a tonal outfit.
What are your fav finds at f21?
